Summary

Three learnings from the pubDate fix + edit-feature session, recorded as guidance:

  • Test seam: on :memory: (MaxOpenConns(1)), issuing a second query while rows from the first are still open is a hard deadlock, not a slow query
  • Test seam: DATETIME columns don't scan as SQLite text — the driver returns time.Time, which database/sql renders as RFC 3339 in a string; parse stored timestamps with feed.PubDate's layouts and assert rendered dates against the row's value (the root cause of PR #6's constant pubDate)
  • Git: PRs merge as squash, so local branches always look unmerged after merge; git branch -d refusing is expected, delete with -D without re-verifying the diff

Session retro; each item cost real debugging or cleanup time and is a gotcha no config or command output confesses.
